The ATVO School Bus service

For over 40 years, ATVO S.p.A. has managed the school transport service on behalf of the Municipalities in the area, based on specific service contracts.

The transport service:

  • Meets the need to facilitate the fulfillment of compulsory education, contributes to making the right to study effective and facilitates access to the competent school, with priority for those for whom reaching the school premises presents objective difficulties.
  • Is intended for all those enrolled in kindergarten, primary and lower secondary schools as well as resident disabled children attending compulsory schools.
  • Is provided for the competent school, whose catchment areas are identified by the Municipality of residence.

Here you will find practical information, rules and useful documentation to correctly use the service, available when needed.

Students must board and alight only at designated stops, maintain proper behavior during the journey and follow the driver's instructions. Disturbing the driver, consuming food and beverages, or using dangerous objects on board is not permitted. Failure to comply with the rules may result in suspension of the service.

School bus fares are set by the municipalities based on agreements with ATVO. Payment is generally made through periodic subscriptions that can be purchased at ATVO ticket offices or the relevant municipalities. For information on current fares and any concessions, please contact your local municipality.

The escort service is provided for kindergarten and primary school students, where required by the service contract with the municipality. Escorts are responsible for supervising students during the journey. For lower secondary school, supervision is ensured by the driver.

ATVO ensures student transport in full compliance with current safety regulations. Vehicles used for the school bus service are regularly inspected and equipped with all safety features required for school transport. ATVO's responsibility covers the journey between stops and the supervision of students during travel.

The school bus service is organized according to the school calendar provided by the institutions and approved by the municipalities. Routes and timetables are defined at the beginning of each school year and communicated to families through the municipality. Any extraordinary changes are notified with adequate advance notice.

Requests for service certifications, subscription renewals and meal voucher procedures must be submitted to the municipality of residence or the relevant ATVO office. It is recommended to renew at least two weeks before expiry to avoid service interruptions.
